appearance; Alec is described in the story as having the short black hair and glacier blue eyes, which was inherited from his mother. He is slightly muscular from fighting, but not too much mucsle. He is average height. His weight is slightly above average from mucsle weight. He doesn't have much body fat on him. His face is slender and he has strong features.
He is handsome, but unlike Isabelle, Alec downplays his looks by wearing sweaters and clothes that cover him. He’s said to be a terrible dresser. He sometimes wheres fun clothes for Magnus' entertainment but would not whear any of it in public or rarely even around the other shadowhunters. He'd rather just throw on clothes though then take 20 minutes to try on things and get dressed, unlike Magnus. But oppisites attract sometimes.
The first impression of him is usually his sweaters as Jace describes with "holes in them" because they aren't very fancy, his beautiful and unique blue eyes, and his strong jaw and angular face. He has admitted before he doesn't care about fashion.
personality; Alec is the oldest of the Lightwood children, but he is the most quiet. He is very studious and very serious; this is because Alec is 18, making him legally an “adult”. With this adulthood, Alec takes on much responsibility. He sometimes puts the other children down because they aren't adults by one or two years. He enjoys being above them sometimes. He seems to be in the spotlight because he can go in the gard and do certain duties, but he just wants to do a very good job and become a shadow hunter.
Alec also gets jealous and offended easily, as seen when with company. He is also known for hardly making jokes, and when he does, they usually aren’t funny. But as serious as he is, he can have a soul and help the others out at times. He cared deeply about his family, including Jace, and Magnus.
He hasn't thought about having family of his own yet, or about adopting children, but for right now he knows he loves Magnus and if they decide to adopt or something else that it'll all work out in the long run as long as they're together. He loved Magnus with all his heart, no longer thinking about Jace in that way. He is very loyal to Magnus and would go to a lot to see him smile.
history; Alec is the oldest of the Lightwood children. He doesn't seem to get along with any of his family members all that well except for Isabelle and his father. He cared deeply for Jace but more as family. Alec was once in love with Jace, but after Jace told him that it wasn't love and that it was instead fear, Alec realized his feelings for Magnus and he openly confessed in front of everyone by kissing him. His parents were shocked but eventually met and accepted Magnus as Alec's boyfriend and as a warlock.
Upon Max's death, Alec becomes saddened, but unlike Isabelle, he moves on and retakes his responsibilities as an adult Shadowhunter. He currently is back at the Institute and happily seeing Magnus. He is now good friends with Jace as a family member and friend. He cares deeply for his sister Isabelle still and works hard to do his duties and help out the adult shadowhunters. He misses Max very deeply, but couldn't care less about Valentine's funeral. Although he was a shadowhunter, him and his son had killed his little brother.

Alec sat at his desk in his room inside the institute. It was very quiet, unusuaully quiet. The institute always seemed so full of life these days, ecspecially that downworlders were more excepted. If it wasn't Clary and Simon, it was Jocylen and Luke. OR Maia and Isabelle. There was just so much comotion these days. It didn't seem right to them. He threw down his pencil at the desk. He was trying to document Clary's new runes, one of his newest duties. But it took complete concentration to get them right. He could right them on his arm with a stele. But this, this he could not do. The pencil marks did not seem to flow as steadily as the stele did.
He gave up for now. He's work on it later. He needed something to do though, to take his mind off things. Taking a walk down the halls, he soon noticed it was completly empty. There was no one to be seen. Clary was out with Jace in the park. Isabelle was shopping. What a shock? Everyone seemed to be busy these days. Either they always had something better to do or their relationships were blooming. "Meanwhile, I get all the work," he said not in a rude tone, but a proud one. He was proud of all his hard work and responsibilty. Although, he would like to see his boyfriend right now. Maybe they could go see a movie or have a bite to eat. Something quick and meaningful, but something that gave him enough time to come back and complete his work after.
He walked down the hallway now. His speed seemed to quicken in pace, exited now that he would get to go and see his Magnus, his warlock. The nearest phone was in the kitchen, and at Alec's speed it only took a few minutes. He clicked the speed dial button he had programmed for easy convenience and it ran. It ran serveral times until it went into voice mail. "Hi MAgnus," Alec said until he realized it just his voice mail playing. His grin quickly turned upside down as he hung up, not bothering to leave a message. Alec sat at the table, got a glass of water, and bit his lip lightly as he considered his options. He decided quickly, in under a seconds thought, that he's call back. Magnus had probably been in the tub or applying glitter, he said laughing and smiling once again. He picked up the phone again, and quickly dials his number slowly. He did this to make it slower and stall mainly. This time Magnus picked up and Alec spoke. "Hey Magnus," he said flirting, twirling a strand of his hair as if the warlock could see him, "can I come over?" he asked. All it took was a quick yes from Magnus and Alec scribbled a note for the others and rushed out the door to his boyfriend's house.
