[/center]characters name; Maia Renee Roberts
nicknames; Maia is fine.
characters age; Sixteen
grade; Tenth?
species; Werewolf
celeb/face claim; Shay Mitchell
picture;
appearance;
Maia has wavy, dark brown hair that reaches to her mid-back. She usually keeps it in tiny braids. Her hair frames a roundish heart-shaped face. Her eyes are medium-sized almonds that are the color of dark chocolate. Maia has a caramel complexion, being that she's biracial. She's a slender somewhat muscular girl with curves in the right places. Maia is about average height, standing at about five foot six.
She's not very girly. You'll rarely see her not in jeans and a t-shirt. She hates wearing dresses or skirts. She'd pick a pair of worn-out Nikes over Gucci heels any day. She'd rather touch silver than wear make-up.
personality;
Maia is a brave individual. She stands up for what she believes in and won't back down. She has a determined air around her. Once she puts her mind to something, she'll keep trying until she gets/does it. However, she won't break any of her moral values. She's smart and clever, so it might be a bit hard to fool her.
Maia is pretty stubborn. She'll stick to her opinions unless you make it obvious she's wrong. Though, she'll still hear you out and consider your thoughts. But she probably won't accept them. Not at first, at least. She's kind as well, but she's not the type to take somebody's crud. She won't hesitate to stop you if you're being unreasonably cruel.
You could say Maia has some trust issue when it comes to guys. Well, at least the really pretty kind. Due to issues in her past, she thinks a handsome face is just a mask hiding hatred and cruelty. But, other than that, she's okay with trusting others. She does treasure her friends.
Maia is a pretty laid-back person, you could say. She'd rather play Xbox than go to a fancy party. She's not the type to be involved in meaningless drama, either. She'd only get involved to help a friend, but other than that, she'd just ignore it. She's loyal as well. That might be expected, since she's a werewolf, but it's true. She wouldn't betray a friend. She absolutely loathes traitors.
history;
Ever since she was little, she's never trusted beautiful boys. One reason is because of her older brother, Daniel. He had skin the color of honey and big, round dark brown eyes. Yet, he'd been the kind of person who tortured others for his own pleasure and entertainment.
Maia was one of his little toys. It started off minor. He pinched her in places where he knew bruises wouldn't show and replacing the shampoo in her bottle for bleach. You'd think going to her parents would solve the problem, but it didn't. His beauty tricked them; making them believe he was harmless and innocent. Sure, he was innocent. As innocent as Satan.
Once, in the ninth grade, he broke her arm. This caused her to run away from home, but soon enough her parents brought her back. A year later, when she was in tenth grade, Daniel was killed by a hit-and-run driver and died. She stood at his graveside, feeling ashamed for being relieved instead of feeling grieved. She though God would punish her for feeling such a thing about her own brother.
Then, the following year in eleventh grade, she thought she had received the punishment she thought she was surely going to get. It was Jordan, a boy with small hips in jeans and indie-boy rocker shirts. He had eyelashes girls would kill for. She would have never thought he'd even give her a second glance, but he seemed to prefer her curvy shape over the skinny girls running around her school.
He treated her like a queen. The first couple of months were amazing, the last were horrible. He changed completely. He turned into a possessive control freak. Whenever she made him angry, he'd hit her across the cheek and leave a horrible, ugly red mark. When she attempted to break up with him, he decided to push her down in front of her own house before she was able to run inside for safety.
Afterwards, she kissed another guy in front of him to enforce the fact that they were over. The boy she had kissed was so insignificant, she soon forgot his name. Then, that night she took a shortcut to go home. A dark shape exploded from an old merry-go-round, and the enormous wolf body knocked her into the wet mud. The pain she felt when it's teeth bit her throat was bewildering. She'd scream and flail around trying to escape, but to no avail. She was a prisoner. While the whole thing, she kept thinking how impossible the whole occurrence was. It was so unreal, but it was happening to her. She lived in New Jersey. There were no wolfs there.
Her screams caught people's attention, and the huge wolf let her go. She had to get twenty-four stitches afterwards. The doctor had said the bite was probably a large dog's, but Maia didn't believe that. Right before the wolf had turned to run away from the scene, an all too familiar voice murmured in her ear, "You're mine now. You'll always be mine."
After that, she never saw him again. He and his parents left their apartment and moved. Not one of his friends confessed to her where he'd went or even if they knew. She wasn't totally surprised when the next full moon, she underwent the painful process of her first time turning into a werewolf. The pains were so bad, she'd fainted. Well, she thought she did. When she regained her consciousness, she was miles away from her house. She wasn't wearing any clothes and she was covered ion blood.
That same night, she took a train to Manhattan. It didn't take much time to make that decision. She already faced troubles being biracial in her suburban neighborhood. No telling what'd happen if they knew she was a werewolf.
It was actually easy to find a pack. There were many in Manhattan. She'd fallen into the one in downtown, who slept in an old police station in Chinatown. The pack leaders came and went. There were about three others before Luke came along. He gave the impression that he was trustworthy and kind. He wasn't too good-looking, so she decided to give him a chance.
She was comfortable in the pack. She liked playing board games and eating Chinese on nights when there was no full moon. She enjoyed the hunting when it hung in the sky like a bright, ivory disk. These days, she hardly even thinks of her family.

"Drop in your hazards," the sheman said, pointing to a box labeled HAZARDS. On it, had a long list. The only things I was guilty of, however, was having a cellphone, matches, and lighter fluid. I dropped in the cellphone, but I wasn't going to give up my matches. Or the lighter fluid. The sheman came by, giving me a glare, as if saying, 'Thats all you got?' I didn't say nothing, but tried to look as innocent as possible. I let out a breath of relief when he/she walked away.
Then, I looked around to see what kind of people were here. My eyes were drawn to a young man reading a book that lay in his lap. I stared at him, a strong sense of deja vu coming on. My heart was pounding, my heart almost...wanting him in a way. Did I meet him before? No, I think I would have remembered this feeling. I made my mind go all the way back, but I rarely got involved with romantic relationships, nor did I ever have more than two friends. I squinted my eyes at him, trying to remember. But I couldn't.
